About the holiday home

Set on a tranquil part of the British east coastline, the Blue Dolphin Holiday Park has provided families with fun and laughter for generations.

As a family, we've been coming here for years, spending several weeks each year here creating memories.

We've had many holiday homes over the years on the east coast, with our most recent one being a lovely 3 bedroom caravan at the Blue Dolphin Holiday Park, Filey, North Yorkshire.

The holiday park is based in Gristhorpe Bay, a small coastal village approximately 6 miles south of the Scarborough, and about 3 miles north of Filey – both popular holiday spots for the east coast of Yorkshire. If you're looking for accommodation in Filey or Scarborough, then our holiday home is ideal for you.

The caravan is a 2019 Swift Bordeaux Exclusive, 38 feet long and 12 feet wide offering a large, comfortable living space. There is plenty of seating, a flat screen TV with Freeview TV channels available and a DVD player.

The holiday home comrpises a double bedroom complete with en-suite and dressing area, and two other bedrooms that have two single beds which can be used in a single or double configuration. It comfortably sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms, with room for a travel cot in the double bedroom. Each bedroom has fitted wardrobes and drawers offering plenty of storage. All bedding is supplied.

It has a kitchen with a full size oven with hob and grill, microwave, fridge freezer and kettle to provide full self-catering facilities. Full cutlery and crockery sets are available with enough to seat 8 people. There is also a dining table and chairs.

There is a main bathroom with a shower cubicle.

The caravan has full running water, hot and cold. Gas and electric is mains supplied directly to the caravan. Heating is available by way of gas fire and central heating. The caravan is also double glazed.

To the exterior is a veranda running the full length of the caravan, and wrapping around the front providing a large decked area complete with garden furniture offering a great space for dining. The veranda has a lockable gate – great for letting your little ones run around without them being able to run off.

The caravan is sited on a quiet cul-de-sac of the holiday park, with very little traffic passing through; only users of the few caravans on the cul-de-sac. There is a large field in the centre of the cul-de-sac, perfect for the kids to play on. It's just a short 2-minute walk to the main complex, where most of the amenities are situated.

The holiday park offers a great deal of amenities including a supermarket with Costa Coffee, launderette, arcades, amusements, 3 bars, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, sports centre, outdoor ballgame courts, and on-site takeaways including Papa Johns, Burger King and a fish & chip shop.

For the kids there's plenty to do on site, with lots of different activites on: rollerblading, learning to cycle, nature trail walks, bumper boats, go karting, swimming, indoor soft play, arts and crafts and much more.

The 3 bars on site offer a range of entertainment, and are in the same part of the main complex as the arcades, making any night out a fun one. There's a great selection of affordable drinks on, and in the Galaxy Bar there is live entertainment on most weeks, and you don't even need to leave your table, using the Haven Serve app you can get drinks brought directly to you. WiFi is also provided by the caravan site (charges may apply).

For a family fun day out, head down to the beach which is accessible from Cayton Bay. It's the perfect place to spend a summer's day, and during the summer breaks there are often events on there. There's a good stretch of beach for a long walk, you can also partake in some sea fishing or just relax whilst the kids build sandcastles.

There are lots of places with Scarborough and Bridlington being the closest, Whitby is a little further – about 25 miles. Hull isn't too far, if you fancied a trip to east yorkshire, visit the Humber Bridge, or the Deep. There's plenty to see and do on your doorstep.

Unfortunately we can not accommodate pets and smoking is not permitted anywhere in the caravan or on the veranda.
